Scientific interests focus on olefin polymerization catalysts, self-​healing polymers, including the application of “green chemistry” ​principles. Syntheses of transition metals complex compounds, ​conducting research on their physicochemical properties, conducting ​polymerization with the use of new catalysts and physicochemical ​analysis of the obtained copolymerization products. The investigations ​on new antioxidants - synthesis, physicochemical and biomedical ​characteristics.

Jacewicz’s research expertise and interest include: synthesis, ​characterization and application of complex compounds, ​homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, process of ​oligomerization and polymerization of olefins, the antioxidant ​properties of the newly obtained coordination compounds of ​transition metal ions, reaction kinetics and molecular biosensors, in ​particular their applications for the determination of nitric dioxide and ​carbon dioxide in biological material.
